This course is designed to help increase the supervisor's understanding of him or herself and the people on his/her team. This program is taught with an orientation toward real-life situations. Participants will learn how to motivate employees, change negative attitudes, to use the self-fulfilling prophecy, how to avoid people problems, job factors that influence performance, outside influences on performance, how to deal with disruptive behavior, and when to adjust supervisory style. The purpose of this course is to enhance the supervisor's skills as a leader, review different leadership styles, characteristics of a good leader, how to communicate effectively, key elements of giving directions, counseling guidelines, how to give constructive criticism, and five levels of progressive discipline.Proactive Leadership
